Even though I may have not liked my school at times, I am rather fond of it. Not in a I would love to go back there and spend another year toiling away at boards, essays and speeches, I've paid my dues, but rather in a hazy nostalgic way that scrubs over the immediate shit that you had to deal with and leaves an idealised image in your head like a lofty summer dream.

Another year passes. Yet a number doesn't mean any of the growing up it may signify nor does it represent the progression into adulthood. I'm not one to think you should place a lot of anything in a number because, it is a pointless measure of time that just it isn't you. You can be wise beyond your years, or so the idiom goes, you can also be a complete toss pot and act like an immature bastard but all of that is up to you.
So where am I at? I am 18. I am Micheal (pronounced Mi-HAWL but never said like that ever) McCabe a conglomerate of all my shit, a collage of good and a contradictory puzzle just like the next man or woman. I don't know what this new chapter has in store for me nor do I want to know what it has planned. Maybe those blurry lights shimmering in the distance will turn out to be a whole new world filled of everything I fear, want and need.
Wherever I am, whatever I do (and this goes for you reading this as well), know that it is the people that make you, not your bullshit. SHOUT. YELL. SCREAM. With joy, rage, brilliance, inspiration and all those other emotions hidden within yourself. Let them be known and be free.

Blue
A colour that rings through out my life, but not in a melodramatic "I'm Blue/Sad" way. Rather it is more I own a lot of blue clothes, you know you have too much denim when you can do a whole outfit out of it, I am loving Joni Mitchell's "Blue" at the moment and these blue bins that are littered around my old school as make shift rubbish bins.

Excuse the hipsterness
I try and try to get a degree of separation thing happening with each post and this is me trying to do the same. Due to being busy with exams and such (had my English one today least to say I wish I chose the other Othello question) I haven't had time to take new photographs and have been trawling the bottom of my iPhoto for blog content. Many would suggest "why don't you just not post" and to them I say you have never heard of the more is more is more policy. Furthermore and most importantly you have not been aquatinted with the stubborn side of myself who wants to finish this silly a blog post each day (or there abouts) until the end of this year whether or not I continue that is a whole different issue that I will address sometime later.
So excuse the obvious hipsterness. As my friend Winnie suggested so long as you are aware of your pretentious hipsterness and make fun of it on a regular basis (i.e not taking yourself too seriously or thinking you're the best thing sliced Navajo print) then it doesn't really matter if you fulfil clichés along the way. That is today's rant I hope you enjoyed it.
